Singing For Chernobyl

This year was another success for the annual charity ball for Chernobyl Children's Lifeline. Performing for my 5th consecutive year, I've seen the growth and success of this charity and the opportunities they are able to provide for young people in need.

The charity was founded in 1992 and there are now over 150 "Links" that have been established throughout the United Kingdom, raising money to support the children of Belarus and Ukraine, whose lives will be forever affected by the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.

For the children it is like something out of a fairy tale yet at the same time rather daunting. This may be the first time they have left their parents let alone been abroad. What lies ahead for them? What will their host parents be like? Will they miss their family?

This years final total raised will be in excess of £4400. Well done to David Lowe, the Chernobyl Children's Lifeline- Blackpool Link and Thank you to Preston Rotary Club for inviting me to provide entertainment for the event.
